Served 4-43 to 12-45. Landed on Iwo Jima, the first morning of the Invasion. Awarded the Bronze Star for heroism on February 22, 1945. Fought on island until it was secured. Went back to Hawaii, re-grouped and landed in Japan for the invasion but the atomic bomb was dropped.
