Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 36 in 1942. He was a master carpenter and served as a Seaman First Class with the U.S. Navy in the 50th Construction Battalion in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1945. He received medals for the American campaign 1941 to 1945, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign 1941 to 1945 and the World War II Victory Medal. He also received a medal for valor after rescuing a fellow sailor from a burning and sinking ship. He was proud to be a part of building the largest airfield in the world on Tinian. He also served in the Mariana Islands and other South Pacific Islands. He was very proud to have been a member of the elite SeaBees during World War II.
