Was on the USS Pinto ATF-90 in the English Channel June 6, 1944 when a troop ship had been hit and was sinking. The Pinto ATF-90 tied up to the troop ship and laid a gangplank; everyone on the sinking troop ship came aboard the Pinto. Then the rope was cut and the troop ship went down.
