Activity During WWII

492nd Bomber Squadron, 7th Bombardment Group, 10th Air Force. Entered July 15, 1941. went overseas January 26, 1943. was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 3 Bronze Stars for 3 major battles and a Presidential Citation for meritorious service. Served in India. He was killed when his plane went down in an attempted take off from a field in Kharakpur, India on November 19, 1944. He was given a military burial with a 21 gun salute November 21, 1944 in Arlington National Cemetery.
