Entered July 15, 1941. went overseas January 26, 1943. was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 3 Bronze Stars for 3 major battles and a Presidential Citation for meritorious service. Served in India. He was killed when his plane went down in an attempted take off from a field in Kharakpur, India on November 19, 1944. He was given a military burial with a 21 gun salute November 21, 1944 in Arlington National Cemetery.
