He served on D-Day and landed on Omaha Beach at Normandy. He was with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He served in the Medical Detachment of the 327th Glider Infantry and saw a lot of action throughout the war. He was awarded the the Bronze Stars, Purple Heart and many Ribbons.
