4th Armored Division, 3rd Army. Joined his unit from a Repple-Depple in France in early March 1945. After V-E Day, he was the starting shortstop for the 4th Armored Baseball team. He saw intense combat in the last few weeks of the war and helped Liberate Ohrdruf.
