As a member of the Mine Platoon of the Anti-Tank Company of the 417th Infantry Regiment, 76th Infantry Division, this much decorated soldier was clearing a mine field in the Siegfried line near Echternacherbruck, Germany when a German mortar shell took his life on February 15, 1945.
