Served in the U.S. 6th Army, 33rd Division, 3rd Battalion, Company K from October 1, 1942 induction through December 31, 1945 honorable discharge. Combat activity: served on Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) team during Liberation Campaign of New Guinea and Philippines, also Japan Occupation. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and the Rifle Marksman Badge.
