Served in the U.S. 6th Army, 33rd Division, 3rd Battalion, Company K from October 1, 1942 induction through December 31, 1945 honorable discharge. Combat activity: served on Browning Automatic Rifle team (BAR) during Liberation Campaigns of New Guinea, Philippines and Japan Occupation. Received the Asiatic-Pacific theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, combat Infantryman Badge and Rifle Marksman Badge.
