Activity During WWII

Served in escort work of convoys, patrolling around islands to ward off Japanese submarines and minesweeping. Went out with 27 other minesweepers into the North China Sea to open up the sea lanes for the Navy. Served in the advance unit in the invasion of Okinawa. Swept out the harbor at Nagoya. When sent back to the U.S., he was officer of the deck when they went through the Panama Canal.
