Drafted January 1944, activated February 8, 1944. Basic training received at Camp Lee, Virginia. Shipped September 20, 1944 overseas with the 735th Railway Operating Battalion, Company A, to England, France, Belgium and Germany. Served in the Far East with a port battalion to India and China. Returned to the states May 8, 1946. Discharged from Camp McCoy, Wisconsin on May 14, 1946.
