Activity During WWII

Received training at Fort McClellan in Alabama and Fort George Meade in Maryland. Served in the 79th Infantry Division, Company C, 314th Infantry Regiment at time of his death. Medals and Awards: Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Rifleman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two Bronze Service Stars for Normandy and Northern France Campaigns, Expert Badge with Submachine Gun Bar, Marksman Badge with Rifle and Tank Weapons Bars, Distinguished Unit Emblem, and WWII Victory Medal. Killed in action on August 26, 1944. Buried at Brittany American Cemetery near St. James, France.
