Navigator with the 6th Emergency Rescue Squadron. Flew 20 combat missions in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre on a D.A. -10A Aircraft. Used Radio, dead reckoning, and celestial means of navigation. Served as an enlisted man for 23 months as an airplane mechanic. Battles & Campaigns: Air Offensive Japan, Western Pacific, Southern Philippines, Luzon, Ryukyus, China Offensive, Anti-Submarine. He received the Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; the American Campaign Medal; the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, with 7 battle stars; the WWII Victory Medal; the Philippine Liberation Medal, with 1 star; and Navigator Lapel Button.
