Enlisted on December 10, 1941. Served on the USS Perry DMS-17, January 11, 1942 to early July 1944. Swept mines for Kiska, Attu, Marshall Islands, New Guinea, Saipan, Tinian. Uss Perry DMS-17, ran many many convoys in between before it took a mine hit at Palau, September 13, 1944 and sunk.
