Activity During WWII

B-24 pilot with 15th Air Force, shot down over Weiner, Neustadt, Austria on 49th mission and was imprisoned. Liberated by General Patton from Stalag VII-A near Mooseburg, Germany. Awarded the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross, a European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with four battle stars, and a Presidential Citation with an oak leaf cluster, American Campaign Medal, Prisoner of War Medal, and a WWII Victory Medal.
