Activity During WWII

Completed recruit training at Naval Operating Base, Norfolk and boarded the USS Enterprise CV-6 at Newport News, Virginia for her commissioning January 30, 1944. Served aboard the USS Franklin CV-13 when she suffered a direct hit off Kobe, Japan March 19, 1945, with heavy loss of life. Left the USS Franklin CV-13 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and completed two more years in the Pacific, China and Guam before being discharged October 25, 1947.
