October 3, 1940. Member of 6th Armored Infantry and 1st Armored Division in the Oran Harbor, Algeria, North Africa. Served on the HMS Hartland and the HMS Walney. The ships were sunk by the enemy. He was killed in action and his remains never recovered. Awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Died on November 8, 1942 in Oran Harbor, North Africa.
