Activity During WWII

Began service with the Army on March 20, 1941, assigned to the 107th Medium Maintenance Ordnance Company at Camp Blanding, Florida. Worked as a machinist. Sent overseas on the Queen Elizabeth on November 24, 1942 and was stationed at Tidworth and then at Bideford, England. Arrived at Utah Beach, France on September 2, 1944. Company was assigned to the 1st Army, 82nd Airborne Division. Served in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe. Returned to the U.S. on September 20, 1945 and was discharged at Fort Sheridan, Illinois on October 3, 1945. Received the American Defense Service Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 4 Bronze Battle Stars, 5 Overseas Service Bars, 1 Service Stripe, Good Conduct Medal.
