Activity During WWII

Inducted into the Army at Lafayette, Louisiana, was sent to Camp Howze, Texas and on to Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. He was transferred to Germany December 1, 1942 to November 17, 1945. Served as staff sergeant of Company L, 333rd Infantry Regiment, 84th Division Railsplitters. Taken as Prisoner of war and brought to Stalag III A at Luckenwald, Germany, then transferred to Stalag III B, Furstenburg, Germany. In November 1945 he was liberated by the Russians and sent to Fort Lewis, Washington where he was honorably discharged.
