Activity During WWII

Saipan, rendered logistic support for carrier striking forces and splashed one Japanese plane. Palau, rendered logistic support for the 3rd fleet East Carrier Task Forces. Philippines, rendered logistic support, 3rd fleet Fast Carrier Task Forces. Iwo Jima, supported the 4th Marine Division with shore bombardment. Okinawa, escorted 3rd Fleet Carrier Forces and splashed two Japanese planes. May 11, 1945, served as Radar Picket off Okinawa and accounted for 23 Japanese planes. Deceased October 9, 2000.
