SERVED 1942-1945 AS A GUNNER'S MATE IN BOTH THE ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC THEATERS. SERVED IN THE ATLANTIC ON A DESTROYER, ESCORTING TROOP SHIPS TO NORTH AFRICA. AFTER HIS SHIP WAS SUNK HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO GUAM WHERE HE SUPPORTED SHIPS OF THE PACIFIC FLEET.
