Was in the Engineer Corps. Sent to Glasgow, Montana for training in B-17 bombers as a part of the 385th Bomber Group. In June of 1943, the 385th Group, flew to England. Participated in 25 missions bombing targets in Europe. Was awarded 2 Air Medals and Distinguished Service Cross.
