SERVED WITH U.S. ARMY, 80TH INFANTRY DIVISION. DATES OF SERVICE: JULY 1942 TO AUGUST 1946. FOUGHT IN THE RHINELAND CAMPAIGN IN NORTHERN FRANCE, LUXEMBOURG AND GERMANY. WOUNDED IN THE BATTLE OF FRANCE IN 1944 AND AGAIN IN GERMANY IN 1945. RECEIVED THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER RIBBON WITH 2 BRONZE BATTLE STARS, THE PURPLE HEART IN SEPTEMBER 1944, OAK LEAF CLUSTER TO PURPLE HEART IN MARCH 1945 AND THE AMERICAN THEATER RIBBON.
