Lieutenant Nist was a fighter pilot with Navy Fighter Squadron 84 on USS Bunker Hill CV-17. He was Killed In Action during an air strike on Amami O'Shima Island, Japan on April 4, 1945. He was 23 years old. God rest his soul.
