Activity During WWII

Served in the First Armored Division. Left for service on May 19, 1941. Went to Battle Creek, Michigan. Then on to Louisville, Kentucky. Graduated from Officer Candidate School (OCS) School as 2nd Lieutenant. Then transferred to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Then to Boston and shipped out to Africa. Joined up with his outfit, for the North African Campaign, then on to Anzio Beachhead. Continued up to the 'boot' of Italy and was with the outfit when they freed Rome, Italy. Was injured and received the Purple Heart. Deceased January 9, 2000.
