Activity During WWII

Died at the age of 23 in a New Guinea hospital of wounds received while fighting on Leyte. Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant and assigned to Company K, 21st Infantry, 24th Division. Awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant. Awarded the Soldier's Medal for heroic deeds. Saw action in three major campaigns. Received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained on the assault on Leyte.
