December 26, 1943 Graduated radio operators school, Army Air Forces technical training command, Scott Field, Illinois. Served in the European Theater; 321st transport, 27th Air Group. radioman on a C-47 that flew between Greenland, England and France. Killed in Action when plane crashed over France on January 12, 1945. Was temporarily interred at U.S. Military Cemetery at Solers, France. Later buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Steger, Illinois. Received Citation of Honor.
