Served honorably from April 1, 1942 to January 16, 1946 when he died at Fletcher General Hospital, Cambridge, Ohio. He was awarded the following decorations: Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Service Star (Central Europe), Bronze Service Star (Rhineland), American Theatre Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal and European Theatre of Operations Medal.
