Served in the Air Force 1940-1945. Flew with 370th, 307th and 372nd squadrons in the South Pacific. Flew more than 50 missions before his discharge. He was shot down June 1943 near Bougainville Island. Luckily, all crew members of the 307th squadron survived the crash and were rescued by the Navy.
