Activity During WWII

Graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York on June 6, 1944 D-Day. Completed B-29 combat crew training as an airplane commander and was assigned to the 93rd Bombardment Squadron, 314th Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force in Guam. He and his crew were en route to Guam when the atom bomb was dropped. Also flew Saber jets in the 336th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 4th Fighter Wing during the Korean War. He retired as an Air Force Colonel in 1968.
