Activity During WWII

Private in the 29th Division at Fort Meade in April, 1941. Attained rank of Sergeant and entered Officer Training at Fort Belvoir in early 1942. Assigned to the 334th Engineer, C Regiment at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana and was shipped to the Persian Gulf. He built roads, warehouses, railroads and docks for transporting war materials to the Caspian Sea. After two years, the regiment was sent to Germany to build bridges on the Rhine and Danube Rivers. Discharged in April 1946 after attaining the rank of Captain.
