Enlisted October 2, 1941 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Served in the 308th Engineering Battalion, 83rd Infantry as an M-1 Rifle Marksman, Rigger 189. Fought in Northern France, Normandy, Ardennes and Rhineland. Was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with Four Stars, American Defense Service and the WWII Victory Ribbon.
