Enlisted 12/8/41. Trained as a Navigator on B-24 aircraft. He flew 37 missions; 25 with the original crew of the 446th Bomb Group, 706th Squadron, 2nd Air Division, 8th Air Force. Served in the European Theater. Received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal.
