Activity During WWII

Served at the Rhine River in Germany on March 25, 1945. He put men into boats that were to go across the river at night. The Germans found out about the mission and lit up the sky with flares. They were fired at by 4 heavy machine guns that were just 400 feet ahead of the troops. Served under Captain Jennings as well as the 3rd Army under General Patton. In Northern France, the Siegfried Line and the Battle of the Bulge. He was in the 347th regiment, 87th division company K. Received the Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, 3 Battle Stars, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal, Victory medal, American Theater medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and a good conduct medal.
