Activity During WWII

In 1943, John's unit, the U.S. 118th Signal Radio Intelligence Core, decoded German messages during WWII. He served first in Virginia, then England and then France. He participated in D-Day where he served in a French unit and an English unit until the U.S. deployed a decoding unit to the European Operation. He served from September 1942 and was honorably discharged in December 1945.
