Activity During WWII

Drafted in June 1942. Overseas as Technical Sergeant in October 1944 with the 87th Infantry Division. Into the Saar Valley Battle Zone in December 1944. Taken prisoner by the Germans on January 6, 1945 while leading a platoon in Battle of the Bulge in Tillet, Belgium. Escaped from the German guards while being transported in late March 1945. Returned to Military Control on April 1, 1945. Returned to the States in May 1945. Discharged in November 1945.
