Served with the 101st Airborne in the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne. Was wounded and captured by the Germans. Remained a prisoner of war before being liberated, after much suffering from shrapnel wounds, malnutrition, frozen feet, a broken jaw and knee. Deceased on October 9, 2000.
