Army, 29th Division, 116th Infantry. Spent 34 months overseas. He served with his brother in the same company while fighting in France. Was awarded the Silver Star and awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded on June 29th by shrapnel from a German SS. After receiving aid for his wounds, he went back into combat because as he put it 'they were just superficial wounds'.
