Inducted in January 1943. Trained in California, Alabama, Tennessee, England. Machine gunner in Company I, 137th Infantry Regiment of the 35th Division. His unit landed on Omaha Beach in France on July 7, 1944. Killed in action by shrapnel from enemy artillery fire on July 14, 1944. Buried in the American military cemetery at Omaha Beach, Normandy, France.
