Served with the 457th Anti-Aircraft Artillery, 3rd Army. Served for 5 years and 9 months as a training instructor. Wounded at Nice, France; suffered antibody overdose. Battery Commander, chosen to guard Supreme Headquarters in London, England before hitting Omaha Beach; gunshot in back, shrapnel in body. 1st Battalion to hit Omaha Beach.
