Activity During WWII

Served aboard the USS Topeka CL-67. Active duty was in the Philippines and Okinawa. On board the first ship to cruise into Tokyo Bay since the days of Kublai Khan. The USS Topeka CL-67 and crew witnessed, at a distance, the signing of the unconditional surrender of the Japanese on September 2, 1945.
