Activity During WWII

Served with the 197th Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion (SP), Battery C. Activated at Fort Bliss, Texas on November 10, 1942. First to volunteer to go ashore from his outfit on the beach on D-Day. At 09:05 hours near the Easy 3 Exit, led the tracks off on foot for the first platoon. Participated in the battle of Argonne Woods and the Battle of the Bulge. One of several of his company that didn't get the order to pull back at the Battle of the Bulge. Said that they were surrounded by Germans. His battalion provided Anti-Aircraft defense.
