Served from February 1942 to December 1945. Attended Colorado Springs Training Camp. Entered Europe D-Day plus 7, fought in front line combat positions through Western Europe and most notably the Battle of the Bulge. Helped to liberate the Dachau Concentration Camp. Awarded two bronze stars and several other awards. Wounded with shrapnel and fragments but returned to action after a brief hospital stay. Honorably discharged as a sergeant with two rockers.
