Activity During WWII

Entered active service on February 12, 1941, attended Basic Training. Served in New Guinea, Luzon, Bismarck-Archipelago with the 158th Infantry Regiment as a Cook and Baker. Received a Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star. Wounded on January 12, 1945 in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. Separated on August 25, 1945.
