Activity During WWII

Drafted March 28, 1942. Served in troop A, 86th Reconnaissance, Sixth Armored Division. Helped to form the Sixth Armored Division in April 1942 at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Served with the division until it was deactivated in September 1945. Earned a citation for action at Prum River, Germany. Participated in battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Alsace, Rhineland and Central Europe. Received the Bronze Star and many other ribbons. His feet froze during the Battle of the Bulge.
