Entered U.S. Navy Minot, North Dakota June 4, 1944. Served in South Pacific 1944 to late 1945 on the USS Henrico APA-45 when it was struck by Japanese Kamikaze on April 2, 1945. Transferred to USS Sarasota APA-204 to continue to Korea and China. Discharged June 6, 1946.
