Worked as an electrician at the Boston Navy Yard from 1942 to 1943. Worked on the destroyers the USS Hudson DD-475 and the USS Hall DD-583. Left the Navy yard to join the Cadet Nursing Corps. Graduated from Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett, Massachusetts in September of 1946.
