Activity During WWII

Served in the Pacific Campaign in Papua, New Guinea as a Military Policeman and Platoon Leader with the 'Red Arrow' Division. Volunteered for behind the lines mission. Lost for 28 days and listed as Missing In Action until he, one other enlisted man and natives found their way to base with reconnaissance information. Received the Silver Star Medal. Also received the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, GO 21 Headquarters WD 43, American Defense Service Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, five Overseas Service Bars and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
