Activity During WWII

Served in the South Pacific area from 1941-1944 in the 52nd Field Artillery Battalion. Awarded the Purple Heart posthumously. Stationed at Schofield Barracks in Pearl Harbor during the invasion. In his spare time worked as a sports director. Had some of his art sketches submitted to Stars and Stripes magazine. Killed on the Hollandia, New Guinea on April 24, 1944. Buried at the National Cemetery in Manila. There is a ball park in Hollandia which was named for him, Orsillo Field.
