Activity During WWII

Stationed on the East Coast. Served beginning 7/15/41.Received 6 Good Conduct Medals, American Defense Medal (American Campaign Medal), WWII Victory Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal (Europe) and National Defense Medal. Also received a Letter of Commendation issued by the Commanding Officer of the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis for assisting the University of Tennessee, Division of Surgery on his off-hours. He repaired and made functional their heart and lung apparatus which is now standard equipment in all operating rooms. In 1945 the all Florida Fair Association issued a letter of commendation to the Commanding Officer of the U.S. Naval Air Station in Miami, Florida for his work at the industrial and agricultural exposition in representing the U.S. Navy to the civilian population.
